On Saturday, November 9th, Fernando Rivera student government officers and yearbook students banded together to help clean the polluted Pacifica State beach. The officers spent multiple hours cleaning the beach, making a significant impact on the beach’s cleanliness.
The clean-up event not only made a difference in the beach’s cleanliness, but it also demonstrated leadership.
According to the teacher of both classes, Susan McMahon, “They are both leadership classes and the best way to be a leader in your community is to try and create change to make our world a better place to live. Both classes try to create change here on campus, but they are also expected to create change in their community.”
