So far, what have you enjoyed most about teaching here?
Just getting to know the kids, there’s some really nice kids here so I love working with kids.
What has been a struggle for you in the school?
I think just for any new teacher, just getting used to a new school and getting used to all the new things about the new school. I’m getting used to it. I’m feeling a lot better than the first days when I was trying to figure things out.
Why did you become an editor?
I just like working with kids and my parents were teachers and it was just like a family thing, I guess.
What do you plan on doing in five years?
I still want to be teaching. I like being here, I do like being here, yeah. It would be nice to have a school I can be at for a while.
What would the students be surprised to find out about you?
I don’t know, I told them different things. Well, I do have an art background. They were surprised that that photo that’s on the wall over there. It’s a photo of an ocean that I took for an art show. They’d be surprised that I’m not just enjoying painting, that I also do art shows too.
Why did you choose to teach math and science?
A few years ago, I taught math and science for 8th grade and I’ve always loved science. As a kid, I was scared of math, but now, as an adult, I think it’s kind of fun. I joke with my students that 6th grade me knew that if I thought math was fun, I would think I was crazy, but math can be pretty fun.
