Commenting
The FRS Times intends for this area to be used to foster healthy, thought-provoking discussion. Comments are expected to adhere to our standards and to be respectful and constructive. As such, we do not permit the use of profanity, foul language, personal attacks, or the use of language that might be interpreted as libelous. Comments are reviewed and must be approved by a moderator to ensure that they meet these standards. The FRS Times does not allow anonymous comments, and requires a valid email address. The email address will not be displayed but will be used to confirm your comments.
Anonymous sourcing
Anonymous sources should only be used if the staff writer or editor believes that the source could be harmed in the present or future as a result of the publishing of their identity.
Anonymity may be granted to sources on a case-by-case basis for the following reasons, but are not limited to:
- The article may result in physical or emotional harm to the source or others
- The article may result in retaliation from the source’s employer (i.e. termination or official reprimand)
- The article may result in a source being retaliated against by school administration (i.e., suspension or expulsion)
- The article may result in legal harm to the source or others
The source’s identity will not be revealed to anyone except the writer and their editor; and the Editor in Chief.
