FRS has started a new curriculum this year, with enrichments replacing the second elective. This transition has resulted in varying opinions.
Sixth grader Joan Do from gardening class has a favorable view of her class. When asked how she liked it, she replied, “It’s fun, and it feels like a break from work.” She did not have anything she disliked about it because “there’s always fun projects to do.” Other students openly agreed to this as well.
Angelia Franco is a seventh-grade student taking art enrichment. She also seems to be enjoying her new class. “It’s fun to paint in there,” she explained. She expressed that her art skills improved as she practiced, just like her other artistic classmates.
In contrast to the previous two, Athena Rose Ramos is feeling displeasure about her walking class. She described it to be quite exhausting and non-engaging. “I don’t like the walking club because all we do is walk and it gets tiring.”
These are just a few of the voices raised about these new classes. Many agree that it is a great addition to their school life, while others are not big fans of it.
